With a proud history (founded in 1925), the AIB has achieved a unique reputation for excellence and progressive thinking, not only in Massachusetts, but around the world.  Here in Massachusetts we have carried the industry's mantle for generations, striving to ensure that rates, rules and forms for the unique Massachusetts Automobile coverages are adequate and appropriate to ensure a viable insurance presence in the Commonwealth.

Today, the AIB has over 200 member companies licensed to write automobile insurance in Massachusetts.  We represent the insurance industry on matters relating to auto insurance by working with state regulators and legislators to ensure that rates are fair, rating plans are not unfairly discriminatory, and that the policies sold in Massachusetts are readable and clear regarding the coverage offered.

We are supervised by a Governing Committee made up of representatives from our member insurance companies. The Committee meets regularly to decide Bureau policy.
