Apply for AIB Membership
A group of insurers which includes an insurance company licensed to write motor vehicle insurance in Massachusetts,
or an insurer and part of a group and licensed to write motor vehicle insurance in Massachusetts, may be a member of the AIB.
The annual membership fee to become a member of the AIB is two thousand, five hundred
dollars ($2,500.00) for each group. Assessments for the operating expenses of
the AIB are based on fixed fees for services and written premiums, as established
by the Governing Committee in accordance with the provisions of the
AIB Constitution. An insurer not licensed to write motor vehicle insurance
in Massachusetts can apply to become a subscriber of the AIB which is subject to
a $2,500.00 annual fee and approval of the Governing Committee.
- Complete two (2) copies of the Acceptance
of Membership Forms. Each copy of the Acceptance Form should be signed by an
authorized official of the group and returned to the AIB. One copy will be retained
in the AIB files and the other forwarded to the Commissioner of Insurance with proper
notification that the group or company has become a member of the AIB.
- Review the procedures and complete and
return the private passenger and commercial authorization forms for rates
and/or rules and forms necessary for the insurers in your group.

- Complete the contact information in the
AIB Distribution List Sign-up Form for the various AIB notices and mailings.
- Mail a check for the annual membership
fee ($2,500.00) payable to the Automobile Insurers Bureau of MA, to:
