Amendments to 211 CMR 134.00
Safe Driver Insurance Plan 

On February 4, 2008, the Division of Insurance filed with the Secretary of the Commonwealth emergency amendments to 211 CMR 134.00, Safe Driver Insurance Plan, to be effective immediately.  With the introduction of a competitive market for private passenger motor vehicle insurance on April 1, 2008, the revised regulations are intended to continue the uniform collection and reporting of insurance claim and traffic law violation data necessary for the Safe Driver Insurance Plan and alternative merit rating plans adopted by the insurers.  A copy of the amended regulation is attached, along with a version showing the changes, and the regulation is available on the Division’s website. The Division will also post a notice of the public hearing on the emergency regulation to allow promulgation of the final regulation within 90 days.
